    Love this taping. I was wondering would this help with the tibilias posterior muscles. It is very sore as they are being strained as I overpronate and have flat flexible feet which is causing so much trouble. Please let me know.

    • @DynamicTape
      @DynamicTape 5 дней назад

      That is one of the aims of this technique. By resisting the foot flattening and then springing back into supination it should reduce work on tibialis posterior. By changing the foot position it also should increase how efficient tibialis posterior is at transferring force as it increases the length of its lever arm. That should mean that it has to work less to produce the same supination moment.

      Hi Jeff, this is a Dynamic Tape Adhesive Spray but we do not have this currently. It is very strong and designed for prolonged use in water and other extreme activities. As an alternative you can try the LP-Support spray or Tuf-skin. There are a few other products around but the strength of adhesive does vary. The other option are adhesive barrier wipes, often used for colostomy bags or similar. They are generally very sticky. Skin-Tac, AllKare are a couple of examples.

      Hi Cheryl, thanks for your message. You can purchase tape directly on www.dynamictape.com in some countries or you can find contact details for our distributors. If your Physio or other healthcare provider has experience with applying Dynamic Tape, they might be able to assist you if you want more guidance than that provided in the videos. We do advise that the videos are for information purposes only and recommend seeking professional assistance. Depending on the degree of foot drop and the amount of assistance required, different Dynamic Tape products can be used or multiple layers may be employed to increase the resistance and recoil. The ECO is more for holding whereas the original and the PowerBand are more for the spring and assistance.

    • @DynamicTape
      @DynamicTape 8 месяцев назад

      It is not really possible to say if/what might help without assessing you as there can be many contributing factors, different compartments involved, different stages and severity. Some might benefit from reduced workload on muscles of the involved compartment which could potentially be achieved directly by generating some of the force, or indirectly by changing movement and position (which changes the ability to generate and transfer force by changing the length of lever arms and a number of other things). Best to discuss with your physiotherapist but the following could be helpful in the right situations - studio.ruclips.net/user/playlistPL7VopBXj_mKfRZw818mbE3r184Se-6LBO/edit +/- some plantar flexion force studio.ruclips.net/user/playlistPL7VopBXj_mKfV2IVnD4cVBHpesFQAhcZY/edit particularly for posteromedial compartment issues. If it is anterolateral compartment, you would not want to be creating a plantar flexion force as the anterolateral compartment would have to work much harder.

    why would u tape an inversion for inverted foot drop? shouldnt it have been opposite?

    • @DynamicTape
      @DynamicTape Год назад

      Yes. This technique is for someone going into plantar flexion and then rolls onto the medial aspect of their foot i.e pronation (subtalar eversion/forefoot abduction/dorsiflexion as they come over the foot). So this technique is helping them clear the foot during swing by having the in more dorsiflexion. It tends to spring them back into dorsiflexion at toe-off as the tape is prestretched in plantar flexion and recoils once the toe is released. It then resists/decelerates the navicular dropping into pronation during stance. You can use other arch support/antipronation techniques with some recent studies also showing improvements in Y balance and SEBT for example (although these were not on people with foot drop from neurological lesions). If someone was rolling over on their foot into inversion then yes, you would tape to resist inversion. This would go laterally rather than medially or you would do something more like a lateral ankle ligament complex technique.

    • @DynamicTape
      @DynamicTape Год назад

      @@JulietsMan unfortunately it is impossible to give you advice specifically for your situation as we have not been able to assess you so this information is general in nature only and you should discuss with your healthcare practitioner. You might want to review some of the applications for ankle sprain. These can be combined with the strips up the front to resist the foot dropping. Double layers provide strong resistance and recoil (make a double layer first before applying). These techniques also provide some compression of the tibia and fibular to support the syndesmosis. Here is an example - ruclips.net/video/wHelssBjtQw/видео.html

    • @DynamicTape
      @DynamicTape Год назад

      Also note that the Dynamic Tape has very different properties to kinesiology tapes and is applied differently. Similarly the ECO (black tape) has higher resistance than the original but the original has stronger recoil (assistance) so it depends on your aims. Often a combination works well on the ankle and foot.

    • @DynamicTape
      @DynamicTape 2 года назад

      The Dynamic Tape is not rigid and is not designed to hold in that position, nor will it. The toe is in a normal position however, just at the end of range in one direction. It does however provide resistance to the toe being pushed to the side (opposite direction) and in addition, slight toe flexion and shortening of the arch has been added so that flattening of the foot is resisted and decelerated. This will further reduce the force pushing the toe to the side.

The skin on the thumb is generally pretty tough so you are less likely to get a blister there from the tape pulling on the skin. You can however put a locking strip around the thumb anchor before doing the other two to help reduce shearing on the skin.

    So which of your tape would you recommend for a patient experiencing joint instability, dislocations/sublaxtions, extremely tight joints, hypermobility/hyper extension of joints. I have hEDS (Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) and Rheumatoid Arthritis.

      That is a good question as it depends on the joint and the movements that you are trying to resist. If you are looking to resist hyperextension of elbows or knees for example, you might want the ECO to provide more direct resistance but if you are looking to control the knees you might want the original black tattoo (probably a double layer) to have a strong resistance and recoil. Fingers and thumbs, the original black tattoo is very good as the recoil provides firm compression to stabilise the joints but at the same time you need to take a little care with circumferential applications not to cut off circulation for example. Sorry that we can only provide general information without actually assessing you. I think it will probably come down to personal preference for the movements that you are trying to address. Of course, if you need more force you can always just laminate two or more layers together before applying to increase the resistance.

    May I ask when/where should one do this taping procedure during the recovery phase?

    • @DynamicTape
      @DynamicTape 2 года назад

      It depends on the cause and your aim but can generally be applied throughout the recovery just in slightly different ways e.g. more support/resistance to the foot dropping down might be required if there is very little muscle activity. The ECO tape might be used for this purpose, double layers etc. If there is some muscle activity but not quite sufficient to overcome gravity, then the classic tape with more recoil might be used to help spring the toe up during the swing phase etc.

    Curious why there are so many different ways to tape for tennis elbow 🤔

    • @DynamicTape
      @DynamicTape 2 года назад

      It is a good question. Tennis Elbow is a name that is given to a range of conditions affecting the lateral elbow and hence depending on the different contributing factors, different structures involved, different demands, different pain processes etc. then different techniques may be more effective or not effective at all. This particular technique employs a variety of mechanisms and may impact a number of different structures which is why it can often result in immediate changes in painfree grip strength and function but of course we may find something else is more appropriate based on our assessment findings. Having a single recipe for taping of all 'Tennis Elbows' is going to yield widely variable results.

    My daughter is pigeon toed, do you guys have any taping techniques for that?

    • @DynamicTape
      @DynamicTape 2 года назад

      Hi Vitaly, any technique would depend on identifying the cause and contributing factors. It is not possible to do this without assessing your daughter. Hip abduction/external rotation techniques can help reduce this sort of movement if that is the cause - ruclips.net/video/X_ROFl1aizk/видео.html. It is also worth noting that depending on your daughter's age, in-toeing is often seen in younger children as a normal stage of their gait development and it does not persist. If you have concerns and have not already done so we would recommend discussing with your physiotherapist or health care provider.

    Will a Kinetic tape work?

    • @DynamicTape
      @DynamicTape 2 года назад

      Kinesiology tapes have very different properties. They have very little in the way of resistance or recoil (less than 100g vs 10-15kg with Dynamic Tape) - see video - ruclips.net/video/IFH77Xb_jnc/видео.html. They also tend not to stretch as far and if applied as per the video above and with sufficient stretch to create any sort of resistance/assistance they are likely to start locking up the downward movement of the foot. If you want to simply hold the foot up, they could work with a lot of stretch but you are not going to get the natural motion, resistance to the foot dropping (but allowing movement) and then the strong recoil to lift the toes.
